As I'm a new member of the Jaguar forum and that I have to post a new thread, I'm going to present myself.
As English is not my native tongue (it' french), I hope you will understand what I write.
I own a Jaguar x-type diesel since april 2004 and it has done 142.000 kilometers (a little more than 82.000 miles) without major problem (except a faultly rear window electric motor).

But now, for a while, I have a problem with the parking assistance. It works from time to time an a few days ago it stopped completly to wark.
Since that moment I have found that the reverse light have also stopped working.
I have short circuited the connector over a little module over the gearbox (in the engine compartment) and the reverse light came on but I hear a continuing sound from the parking aid. As I have not yet replaced the little module over the gearbox.
I thing it should help. What do you think about that ?

Now since I posted this problem for the first time (06/24/2011) the module have been replaced by a Jaguar dealer and every thing is all right now. It costed less than 14 € + tax + labour, about 40 € all included. I foundthat not expensive.
