Well good luck, but I wouldn't just get it down if it doesn't feel right just because of the drive! Not saying thats going to happen though I'm just saying. Take some pics and video now and than later so you can show us all. You should take some underneath pics as well!

Dude, you're like asking for trouble...
You cut the cats out and a, it's a federal offense, and b, your car will never pass the smog test and you'll never be able to re-sell it. Why? cause no right mind sane person will buy a car they can't get inspected.

Removing the cats for HO gains will not yield you much. Get a complete Legal system which will sound better and give you as much as 15-20hp

Miller man, as much as I agree with race, I'll point out, that if you live in FL, where we get no inspections, I would do it. There are no sensors after the cat to make it run any different, and as long as the piece that gets welded in its place is welded VERY well, you'll see a noticible increase in HP! Havn't done it on the S, but I did it on my friends Lincoln LS and he got a noticeable increase in power, and gas mileage. However, if you do it in a testing state, you wouldn't pass emissions if the machine was off by 100%!

FL doesn't do inspections? Well what the fork! I'm moving....Jersey literally crawls into the exhaust where they camp out for the night, take their readings and if the Nox is off by .00000000000000000000000000000.5% You failed!

LOL! You're right race, it's pretty cool that they don't but at the same time, we are one of the least polluting states in the union, so in a sense we have "earned" such right. Also, our surroundings are pure water, that any of our pollutants just fly off to sea. Is it wrong...yes. but I'm not complaining!

I'm in Tampa and was considering doing this as well. How much louder does it make the car with the cats removed?

Doesn't sound like you have aftermarket exhaust, but it does sound really nice! Sounds like there is nothing stopping the engine from breathing. You could find it being somewhere in between the stock and the aftermarket, a bit leaned toward the stock side!
