Two questions...

1. How can you tell what kind of exhaust you have? When I purchased my X-Type in May, I never thought to ask the dealer what I had installed (stock, Borla, or Arden?).

From just the looks, I can never tell the difference between Arden and Borla exhaust because the both appear to have the same/similar oval shape. I would imagine that the stock set would have the round, skinny exhausts... so i'm guessing I might have either Borla or Arden since mine have oval-shaped outputs (at least, I'd hope).

I'll have to take some pics sometime and see if anyone can identify for me.

2. Does having your ECU tuned void your factory or extended warrantees?

If your car is really a 2005 sport then it would have came with a factory body kit. If this is the case then there would be some "stock" muffler tips which are larger than previous models. The stock mufflers will have some visible black plastic looking material within the exaust.

 

Arden is right about 05 coming with body kits and different exhaust...but I can't really tell from your pics as to whether your is an 05...from the picture on your avatar i'd say it isn't an 05...also the 05's had 18" wheels and yours look like aguilla 17's...this is what stock looks like...I believe borla and arden tips have indentation on them saying borla or arden...
