Planning to wrap interior trim 2006 X Type
I have searched the thread and the stickies using as many relevant search terms as I can think of but nothing has come up. My car has a cream leather interior with brown steering wheel and dash top. It looks very good but IMO is spoiled by the light maple (I think it is) trim parts - glove box cover, door trims, centre console., ashtray etc.
I am thinking of removing all trim parts and wrapping them in a darker brown wrap which, to my eyes anyway, would look fresher and a bit less 'gentleman's clubby'. Does anyone have any specific advice or comment on how easy/hard it is to remove the trim panels, especially the one around the gear selector (automatic car)? I assume that all the larger pieces simply pry off using a pry tool (which I have a full set of) but the part around the gear selector lever looks trickier. I have tried, very gently, to ease it, but have stopped due to fear of breaking something as I don't really know what I am doing here.
Any and all advice much appreciated.

Solved the problem. The trim around the gear selector just prises off, so long as you are careful. I used one of my plastic pry tools and it came off cleanly and easily. All the other parts seem easy enough. To do the ashtray cover it's necessary to remove the entire ashtray unit, which seems to be held in by jut two screws, revealed when the gear selector trim piece is removed.
