Default Please Help 2004 X-type engine codes

I have recently bought a 2004 X-type 3.0 with 62,000 miles on it. It had been wrecked and sit for 2 years before I bought it. I have repaired the body damage and have got it started. The problem is the car has 5-6 different check engine codes, mostly misfire in the cyliders, and after sitting for a day or so, when you start it for the first time it smokes horribly. After a minute of running the smoke clears. I have changed the plugs, oil and put fresh fuel in the car. Any advise would be greatly apprecieated.

Sneed, what might be the most helpful is to go in and clear the codes to make sure there are no old codes in there and then try it again to see what shows up. Then post the codes you get here and I'm sure someone will be able to direct you better into what is happening.
