Default Please help

I own a 2005 jaguar x type 3.0 manual and the other day I was driving home from school and when I went to shift into 3rd the car wouldnt go in gear, i put the car in neutral released the clutch then pushed it in again and tried to go into 3rd. When I put the shifter in place I heard a snap and now when I put the car in any gear it acts as if it were in neutral and the clutch wont grab. What is this and how can I fix it?

Sounds like you snapped the shift linkage. Unfortunately, this is one of those things that you are going to have to hand over hand the shift linkage to figure out where it broke. I would say you can do a quick check and look on the side of the tranny for where the cable attaches and then have a second person run the gear shift through the gears and see if the little lever on the side moves. If that lever moves, then your problem is internal to the transmission. If the lever doesn't move, then you have a problem either in the shifter or the cable.
