Default Please help identify Sound

I have a high pitched whine in the cabin that sounds like it is coming from the fuse box, left side under dash.
(not the fan)
It starts around 2000 rpm, will whine up with the shifts and stays steady at speed. I'm able to change pitch with throttle.
I cannot reproduce sound when car is not moving. Sound is not mechanical.
I maybe wrong but can one of the relays do this? I can't get my head under the dash while driving so this is the best description I can give.
Thanks

Ya, temps make no difference.

I can't think of a way in which a relay could produce that noise. Has to be something in the driveline or belt. Maybe an intake noise?

Sound is not mechanical.
If you've ever heard an older car with copper spark plug wires make that high pitched whine sound through the radio, thats what this sounds like.

and it's not the radio? have you had someone drive the car past you or while you are in the passenger seat to see if the sound is coming from where you think it is?

If it was a radio related noise, it should be duplicated when the car is parked and running. I get interference with my Sirius and AM radio - but it happens at all speeds and parked/idling.

IF it doesn't occur when parked/idling, and is modulated by the throttle, I can't see how it is not mechanical.

I don't think its radio related. The noise is there when radio is off.

It may sound like its coming from the fuse area, but are sure its not in the drive train...like the prop shaft?
