Default Please help with running lights install...

Hi all,

I have searched this forum for an hour and couldnt find how to get the running lights out. I prefer not to remove the bumper, so I twisted off the cap that twists off the assembly and tried to twist out the running light but it wont come out. What am I missing? Does it pull out? I also looked in JTIS but couldnt find anything. Please help!

Thanks!!

rhriczko, the driving lights (small light bulbs in the center headlights) are held in place with friction clips. So, simply pulling straight back while giving a slight twisting motion will pop them out of their sockets. Now, with that being said, keep in mind that the support brackets for the headlight assemblies (internal structures) are weak. So, you want to make sure that you are supporting the actual headlight reflector as you are pulling on the bulb base. This will make sure that you don't overstress those mounts. If you overstress the mounts, they break, leading to a headlight that flops around. The only real fix is to buy a new headlight assembly to the tune of about $400. There's a fair number of members hear that have suffered from a broken headlight assembly internals.

Great! thank you for the help!! I have read on multiple threads about the headlight issue. Ill make sure to give special attention to the headlight reflector when I pull it out.

Thermo you are very much appreciated on this site!! Thanks again!

If they are stuck, I would resist the temptation of pulling to hard. Rather, I would remove the front bumper, it's really not that difficult.
