Bought the X-Type 15 months ago. AC worked fine. Toward end of last summer it started to cool less. Now, if early morning, it cools, but not well, and certainly not quickly. If sitting in the sun, it barely cools at all until 20 minutes of driving, and then only sort of.

It's gonna get hot down here in the Deep South USA this summer. Will the remedy cost me a fortune?

You have freon leak. Leak has to be found, repaired, then vacuum pump used to suck air out, then freon charged.
