possible worn CV joint?
I've been having some front end vibration at all speeds recently.
I had the bearing replaced, the tech said the old one was fine, but as he had it torn down i told him to change it anyway...i also had him disconnect the balljoint and check for the common wearing of the steering knuckle...he said that was fine too.
It also feels strange when doing a full lock turn, almost like i have a flat tire. The last few days i have noticed a groaning sound coming from the right front wheel area when doing that full lock turn.
Do these symptoms sound like a bad CV joint? and is there a way to test it?
What is involved with replacing one?
Thanks

That sounds like a CV to me if it's clicking at full lock on only one side. I've seen a CV done on a honda and it was like a 30 minute job. Of course, that's a honda, so with the Jag, I'd probably bet around 2-3 hrs. You have to take out the whole hub assembly and then you yank the CV out and replace it.
disguay..it's not making the classic bad CV sound....something is groaning in the CV area when i turn the steering wheel ...its also not the classic steering shaft squeal..lol
