My power seat on my 2003 X Type is no longer able to move forward or back. One of the spring shafts from the power seat motor which moves the seat fore and aft managed to disintegrate. I have sourced the spring shaft but am at a loss on how to install this new piece. Do I have to take the seat out or do I some how remove the power seat motor from under the seat with the seat still in the car???

Any help would be appreciated.

Unbolt the seat and remove from car. You can leave seatbelt hooked up. Make sure it is in its rised position prior to removal with seat back forward asfar as it will go.

 

I knew it was a good idea to wait until it warmed up outside before I tried to tackle this!!!!!
