Power steering
HI ALL,
i have a 2002 jaguar x-type 3.0
when i turn the car on the STEERING is easy but 30 seconds after the car being on it gets hard?
fluids is all there.
i dont know whats wrong, can someone help me?

digimurda, it sounds like the power steering is being cut off due to the speed sensor. Our cars are set up to reduce the amount of steering assist when at speed. As for what can be causing this, I would need to do some more research and see if there is anything that can be checked.
Not trying to hijack the thread, since we're on the subject of power steering. Is the dealer the only place to buy the best fluid for our cars from or is there a good enough equivalent at the local auto parts store? If so, what brand? Thanks...
i've heard of staering dampening ( thermo was saying), but i've heard of it in high performance cars, not ours, but i do notic ethis when u mention it, its quite easy at the start, and when u start driving it gets better. Theres a video of what happens when cars with out this technology accident over steer, or "bump" the wheel
