Which wire, by color or pin position, controls the dimmer function on the premium stereo? I'm installing a JVC double DIN stereo and trying to match functions.

I am about to embark on a similar project. I got the radio from Crutchfield and they sent me wiring instruction that you might fine to be of interest. I would be more that happy to share with you but I do not know how to attach a pdf to this note. I would be please to send to you via email.


Also, have you changed out the speakers? If so, will you plan on bypassing the factory amp? I have a 2002 X type with premium sound and will be direct wiring the new speakers to the head unit. I am have a hard time figuring out how to get the speaker wires into the rear door. Any ideas?

I took another look at the diagram and is should be the seventh plug not on the flange side with the flange on the left hand side.

 

Thanks, Cribageman26. I, too, got mine from Crutchfield, but I modified the the connector (silly me). Ordered a new one, but I'd still like to find a diagram of all the connectors on the 20 pin card side harness.

did you run new speaker wires to rear doors? If so how did you do it
