I recently got a 2007 X-type 3.0 AWD. I've been learning about some of its features. One of them is the Bluetooth phone. I've searched this site but can't find an answer. When I try to connect my phone it says "no phone" and the car is not found by my phone. When I put my vin in online it says I have the Bluetooth software on my car. Now from what I've read, it seems that some cars have the software but I have to go to a dealer to have it programmed? Is this correct? Is there any way to set it up myself? I'm not sure exactly what I need since it says my car has it but it does not work?

Also, the voice command does not work either. When I press the button on the steering wheel it just mutes the radio. From reading the book, it is supposed to beep and I should be able to say a command? Is this correct or am I missing something?

do you have the phone and voice modules in the boot? stacked up with the nav dvd and cd changes.

 

I don't think there is anything. I don't have a touch screen so I don't have nav, and the cd goes right in the radio, I don't believe there is a changer
