Im being charged around 780.00 to replace the rack &pinion on my O3 xtype is that good or should i look for a 2nd opinion

 

genxtype, based on the amount of work and what a rack and pinion normally costs, that price isn't too bad. Granted, I have to ask why you need it replaced. If there is some play in the inner ball joints, they can be replaced without having to replace the whole rack and pinion assembly.

Getting a second opinion is always a good idea. That way, if the two prices are about the same, then you know that is the going rate. If they are completely different, then you need to be asking why they are so different.
