Question Radiator Fan not running when engine is off

Simple question: Are the fans supposed to for a short period of time during the summer heat ?

Only during cold mornings 32 degrees freezing , start I get a Cruise control not working error,
I ran my jaguar scanner it says all 6 coils are bad but that they ara all brand new 1 week old OEM Coils and OEM Sparks.
But if i let the car fully warm up then no problem error goes away.

So assume a problem below:
I assume that because my 02 Jag Xtype 3.0 does not,
I assume the hot air in their will slowly begin to cuase parts to fail like:

1.# A bad mass air flow sensor
2 # A bad thermostat or vacuum leak of some sort.

Any thoughts anyone ?

rm1111, the fans running after the car is turned off is a matter of what the coolant temp is. So, for example, if you get off the highway from cruising for 10 minutes at 70 mph and within 30 seconds are shutting down the car, then yes, the fans are likely to run after the car shuts off. Now, you do that same driving but you add in a 5 minute in town run in there, the motor has a chance to get rid of some heat. In this case, the fans continuing to run is unlikely.

As for your coil issue, I would blame this on the coils not meeting some OEM spec. From the sounds of things, the coils are doing what they should, but they are not quite right. I would say that if everything is good when the car is warmed up, then call it good.

I'm going to replace the after market brand mass air flow sensor with an OEM jaguar mass air flow sensor,
I will also try to clean to the old after market one with a video on watched on you tube from jaguar roman.

He took the mass air flow sensor out and cut a water bottlle in half filled it with medical alcohol and then used a siringe and clean the mass air flow sensor.
Then dried it with a blow dryer. popped in back in car ran fine. he said it should be cleaned once a year.

Any thoughts ?

That is one way to do it. I always used carb cleaner on mine. Just don't spray directly down the openings, bounce it off the walls. After that, the carb cleaner dries itself.

I use MAF cleaner personally. As for fans running at shut off, my car has NEVER done that (except when the FCM bit the dust). I did a Torque app recording a few days ago on my 140 mile round trip to the doctor, just to see if there were any "bugs" beginning. None. The coolant temperature was constantly at 192° whether freeway, town or very steep mountain pass driving.
