alto, within a model year, the fans between a petrol and diesel version are the same. Unfortunately, in 2004, there was a change made to the fan control module. So, the pre-04 controllers have a different plug on the end than what the 04+ ones have. Now, there is an adapter harness that you can get to allow you to use the 04+ controllers in the pre-04 cars, but I do not know of one that goes the other way.

Thermo,

When in 2004 did the wiring harness connector change happen. I know there was a change but I have a fan control module from a 2004 that I put in my 2003 and it plugged right in. When my original control module went out I bought a complete shroud assembly out of a 2004 for $100 including shipping and still have the shroud and fans since all I needed was the control module.

Green Machine, it was around March 2004 that the wiring change went into effect. I do not have an official date. This is why you will find some things referring to the 2004.25 MY (model year) as a different vehicle. This resulted in some wiring changes and renumbering of the fuse boxes.

OK. I was just curious as to the ball park time of change. The one I got must have been from one of the early 2004 models.
