Default Radiator repair

Hi my name is Blaine. I have a 2007 Jaguar x Type. The fan put a hole in the radiator. I am some what mechanically inclined. I have repaired my dryer, hot water heater, and fabricated a hose for my dish washer upper rack. How difficult is replacing a radiator. I cant afford $900 for the radiator and cooling fan

Tedious, but not beyond the realm of DIY. Send a Private Message to Dr. Dome he has some x-types he is parting out and probably has a radiator for a reasonable price.

Blaine, the big thing is you have to drop the radiator out the bottom of the car. So, you are going to need something that you can put the front of the car up in the air by about 18" or so. If you can do that, then the rest is pretty straight forward. I think the hardest part is going to be getting the lower hose off of the radiator.

I think I will check with my mechanic who left Muffler Man and started his own shop. If he cant do it any cheaper then I will do it myself. I guess I will have to get some ramps that get it at least 2-3 feet off the ground.
