Default Radiator Air Bleed port question

Next question guys: When I was bleeding the air out of the radiator, I loosened the bleed bolt on the top of the radiator after warm up and of course it blew off. Now I need a new one. Can anyone tell me the size of bolt and if theres anything special about it. I can't start the car until I get a replacement bolt.

Not sure where you call home?.

From memory its 1/8" BSP, nothing special. Local plumbing suppliers should sort you.

If you want the Jag "Special" talk to the supplies that advertise on here, it is still available from Jaguar #CAC4723.

If you are in the US your local hydraulic hose shop may have it.They will probably know it as 1/8" BSPP....extra "P" for parallel.

I'm not sure if we are thinking of the same part, but I replaced that plug on my car with a radiator drain style petcock. I did that after replacing the radiator with an aftermarket unit though, so not sure if the size/threads would be the same. Petcock makes bleeding the air a lot easier.
