Okay so here is the deal. The radio in my '03 X-Type doesn't work. So what I am trying to find out is why. Usually radios going bad is a rarity. Is there anything I can do to make it work? I was reading something about the radios needing codes? Perhaps maybe something else? Any help would be appreciated!

 

I agree usually radios going bad aren't a major issue, but when we checked out used x-types i'd say about half the radios didnt work, or the screen was fading. It seems to be an issue with them. The one we purchased, the radio actually had to be replaced- it would turn on but no buttons would work. Eventually I am going to do a Navigation install like Dennis has, but the original radios/CD players aren't too expensive on eBay if you need to replace it.

 

I may be looking for one myself. My 04 Alpine has a habit of going on/off that I can't find.
