Radio Volume Question
Silly question... maybe!
Is it possible to program the standard X-Type radio's volume to go above #35? I was listening to some 'The Jam' this morning and it just wasn't loud enough!

The only way to increase the volume above the max (35 is the max?) would be to upgrade the audio system I guess.
I usually have volume at 16 on highways, 18 if it's a more silent song. I'd be worried about your hearing if 35 isn't enough for you.

I've been a pilot for over 25 years. Used to fly small aircraft without using hearing protection. I'm deaf as a post!
flyrr100, there is no way to get your radio to go beyond 35 (max volume). Even if you could, you would most likely reach a point where you would be over driving the amps in the head unit. The least of your worries is the crappy sound that you would get. Odds are, you would end up with a trashed head unit due to the transistors failing. There is a reason why the engineers select certain settings.
Thanks Thermo. I kinda knew that already. Just thought. maybe, Jag would have a tweak.
No worries. It's funny. If I'm listening to the radio it's ok volume. CDs tend to be louder. My iPod through the ACM not so loud. And my primary source is either music on my iPod or Pandora through my iPod.
I haven't tried the RCA jacks on the ACM yet. Hey, a project!
