Default Rain Sensor not working

Hi, I hope you all are doing well. I'm having two issues currently. the 1st is that my wipers are no longer activating with rain. Everything else is functioning properly, so I assume that is going to be an issue with the sensor. Does anyone have any experience with this? The 2nd problem is my high beams won't shut off, however I did find some great trouble shooting advice that I'm going to start with tomorrow. (Thanks Thermo!) Any advice on the wipers will be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you have your wiper switch set on auto? If not,they will not sense rain.

And for your high beams not going off could you have maybe bumped the stalk where you flash the high beams enough that it is now in the full on position?

I thought my auto wipers weren't working when I remembered even though it's on Auto you still have to set the wipers to delay, the first click down. If it still doesn't work check fuses.

The first click is auto. That's what you want. If you put them on delay, then the wipers will constantly come on even when the windshield is dry.

Cool Correction on my reply concerning Auto Wiper setting.

My memory isn't what it use to be, sorry.
What I meant to say is twist the stick to Auto, then raise the stick one click, which is Auto or Delay depending on the location of the twist. When I first bought the car I was expecting the wipers to engage anytime rain or water hit the windshield. I didn't realize when the stick was all the way down the wipers were off and Auto would not engage, only when you raise the stick one click and the twist ie, Delay Speed/ Auto is on Auto.

Thank you everyone, I'll go back once again and make sure I have it set correctly. The auto switch was engaged, however I don't remember the order in which I turned them both on.

...and for the headlights I know that I almost never bump the brights on, so I don't think I've worn out the switch. I hope I don't have to purchase a new switch, and I think installing a new one one. That is something that I certainly don't think it's with in my skills to replace.
