Default Rear bang/clunk only going over slow bumps, not on open road

Hello all-

i am still having a clunk in what seems to be the rear of the x type after

replacing rear upper arms
replacing rear lower arms
replacing rear sway bar bushings
replacing rear sway bar links
securing spare tire properly
making sure break cable was not flopping around

not sure what to do next. Sometimes it feels like a clunk that keeps on clunking for a second or two after going over the bump. Car will never make this noise in open road at speed over bumps. Just going over them slowly in a parking lot

any more ideas?

Yeah, kinda lean that way. Not much else back there you haven't replaced. Only other thing would be a replacement piece has loosened. I know a really odd one happened on my front. A drop end link nut backed out about 1/3-1/2 way after replacement. With how they are tightened (torx inside a nut, 2 tool process), I am still baffled how it occurred.

have you checked the mounting bolts for the rear shocks?
a loose bolt can cause your symptom

Agree with iownme. Get a good flashlight and shine up there to look at top of shock and if you need to tighten a nut up there get at least 24 inches of socket extensions

About the bolts-

Is it a common occurrence for these to come undone?

i imagine I have to check for this when the car is on the ground, otherwise if it’s checked on a lift the weight will pull the shocks down

i dont know how common it is but it needs to be checked if at least to rule it out if not the culprit.
they may have been replaced or removed by someone in the past and not tightened correctly or cross threaded a nut upon replacement or rounded off the nut halfway through the job
the "bump" description makes me think loose component

upon looking again at how much rear end components you have replaced, you now have a weak link, which is the strut,
having all that lovely new gear back there, i would want to replace the shocks anyway.
do urself a favor and replace them with some bilsteins ;@)

I probably will. I am have two new front Bilstein Struts waiting to be installed (until I get new control arms etc to have it all done at the same time) I guess I should just go ahead and replace the rear shocks too.
