Rear defrost causes static on radio

I have a late year 2003 X-TYPE 2.5 which we bought about 3 months ago. Recently discovered that when the rear defrost is turned on, it causes static on the radio (FM side, haven't tried AM). Anybody experience that? It's still under warranty, so I'll eventually take it in. Not a big deal, but it is annoying. [:@]

Thanks for your inputs. I should add that I had Best Buy install a XM radio and put a FM modulator in. However, they disconnected it and reverted the connections back to it's original condition and it still does it. I'm thinking the problem was there before the Best Buy techs ever touched it.
The defroster wiring not being grounded properly sounds reasonable.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

I've noticed that the in-window arial from the X type is noticably worse than my old Ford Contour (Mondeo). I don't think it is a bad ground, but a less robust design (sorry).
You can try grounding the arial better (I'm assuming that you can get at the wires from inside the trunk / boot - I've not looked). But I suspect that you, like me are stuck......

I think the antena is in the rear...left side of boot...and somehow may have been placed near the defroster wire which pulls some serious amps....creating a good magnetic field that is interferaing with the antena....

Well, like I said, the Jag is still under original warranty, so it will be their problem.
