rear defrost and radio issue

You likely have a ratty ground on the antenna circuit. The defroster puts out a pretty fair amount of RF, the crust between the body and the ground can form a diode-like circuit, which makes a pretty good detector for the front end of your radio.
It isn't that the radio doesn't work, rather the signal from the defroster swamps the radio receiver and you don't hear any stations.
Clean up the grounds at the antenna and defroster and you should be good to go!

In addition to wa3ra's advice, be aware that there is an antenna module through which the radio signals and power to the heater elements pass, so check the connections there as well. It's located behind the C pillar trim on the lefthand side. It's powered through Fuse F69, 7.5A in the glove box fuse panel.
