Default Rear defrost turning on at start up?

Any ideas on this one? It started about a week ago, sometimes the rear defrost comes on when you start the car other times it doesn't. Turns on and off just fine when you push the button.

Hello,

Perfectly normal in colder weather. When my car was under warranty I mentioned it to the dealer's service writer and he told me there's a sensor that controls the auto-on feature. It should also turn off by itself once the interior warms up.

Good luck,

Steve

It isn't even 32 degrees. Don't think it did it once last year. Hmm. Thanks.

I notice that mine does this sometimes also. I just make sure to turn it off if I don't need it so my back windshield doesn't explode that that one poor jag owner...

Mine does this when the snowflake is showing which is factory set to 5 degrees. It automatically turns on the rear screen and heated mirrors, goes off automatically after a short while or can be manually turned off
