Rear Differential auto and manual same?

Rear Differential auto and manual same?
Hello all,
Been trying to do my research but have come up empty handed. Basically are the auto rear diff and manual rear diff the same? (same ratio?) the only thing I have been able to find states that the t-case and diff are the same and all the difference is in the transmission itself. I did verify that the t-case is the same unit, however unable to find info on the rear diff.
If anyone has the answer please let me know.
