Default Is the foglight housing the same for 01-09 X-Type and are both sides the same?

Hey dudes,
My driver side fog light housing has visible moisture in it and I need to replace it because the bulb goes out all the time and I like riding fogs only. Passenger doesn't have moisture and I replaced it only once at around 110K miles. I am looking on ebay and want to make sure the foglight housing is the same for 01-09 X-Type and are both sides the same. Are they?

Also, can this moisture issue be fixed so I won't have to replace? Sorta worried I buy a used one, and it lets in moisture as well.

Thx dudes

they do change in the later models but if you have a 2003 X Type like I do, both sides are the same....just replaced mine...they looked like little fishbowls!! I bought them new for like 97 dollars each, then I put 8000 HIDs in them to match my headlights...now my headlights dont even seem like city lights when Im driving!! Brand new fogs with HIDs are extremely bright!!! I love them...dont even need the headlights on!!
But yeah, both sides are the same...good luck...tell me if you need a link for where to buy them if you want them brand new...its worth it IMO....

Thanks dude. Do u know which year changed? For $97, it might be better to buy new considering used ones are around $70. Please send me the link to where u purchased them. Thx

Cant find the exact link or whatever, but I got them at autowarehouse.com. Sorry, computer idiot here, but just put in a product search for the fogs. Also there are some really good instructions here on how to put in HIDs.

I hope you are all aware that installing HID bulbs in a "None-HID" bulb unit is Illegal and harms all oncoming drivers and pedestrians. Also, Running with Fog Lights On all the time is illegal in most states but you will not get a ticket until you get pulled over for something else.
The HID beam is not correctly focused within a non-HID unit. There is a metal plate in HID units that blocks the beam from shining above a certain point (driver’s faces).
There are other legal matters but you all should or will find out on your own.

@nycxtype,

where did you get the hid converter, or were the fogs standard hid on the '03s? I'd like to put something brighter in my fog lights.

^^^^^ I used a regular HID kit available from ebay, etc (8000K). The 2003 fogs are regular light bulb non-HID. There is a detailed thread here with pics,,,use search. I believe Thermo did the how-to for HIDs in the fogs. Very helpful.
I had to re-silicon mine because I noticed them fogging up a bit again after I did HIDs...I recommend waterproofing them as much as possible.
