Is the strut on 2005, Estate Wagon rear hatch a simple pop off to replace?

 

If you're talking about the two struts that hold the boot door up, yes. If you're asking about the two struts that hold the glass up, no. For the rear glass, you'll need to remove at least the D plastic side pillars (and I recommend the C pillars as well) in order to pry down and lower the roof insulation so you can get at the strut attachments in the roof area. Once the roof insulation is lowered, the removal is similar to the boot door latches, slide the retaining clip down and pop off the strut.
