Default rear lower control arm bushing replacement?

Can the bushing be removed and installed in a Rear Lower Control Arm instead of buying the entire control arm on 2004 x type?

I found that it will cost you nearly the same amount to buy bushings and press them in.

Yeah when I did my front control arms I was told that since there would be more labor involved to change out the bushings, the cost would end up being the same as just buying new arms. So I just went with the new arms. But if you can do everything yourself you'll save a little money by just doing the bushings. You have to decide if that amount of money is worth the added time/aggravation though.

Default lower control arm front bushes

hi there,
It's possible to replace the bushes, you will need to remove the whole arm. Once this is done I drilled the old bush out and used my mates bench press to push in the new one. Just be aware of removing the bottom pins on the shock absorbers as the bolt on the kerbside on my 53 plate was corroded to the sleeve on the shocker.

This is exactly what I came here to find today, and it's the top thread. I love when that happens.

Are the rear arms available in the states anywhere besides the dealer? Anyone know dealer prices and/or part numbers for the rear of an 05 Sport? Thx.

I bought my front arms from this eBay seller and I was very satisfied:

Jaguar X-Type Coolant Reservoir Expansion Tank CAP SET C2S4686 - FREE SHIPPING items in Deutsche Parts USA store on eBay!

They have various suspension components for our cars and you can't beat the pricing

Emaraszek, I have found eBay to be the place to shop*when trying to search for anything for our xtypes. I've bought things at 20-15% of dealer prices and have never had any issues.

Agreed, there are many sellers that seem to specify in brands like Jaguar and everything I've gotten has been both well-made and inexpensive, especially compared to dealer prices.

Even outside the dealer, shop prices tend to be much higher for parts than sourcing your own. For example, the set of front control arms I bough was roughly $150 for the pair. The shop I normally go to wanted $300 for one arm, plus labor.

Found the best deal on Amazon for the rear control arm w/bushings. $119 shipped. Ebay and others wanted $130-$179 PLUS shipping. Now I just hope the correct part shows up. Thanks for the help, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Well I don't know if that's the best deal as the eBay ones are usually around $150 for a set of two. Deutsche Parts sells a set of two for $130, which is currently on sale for $155.69 plus they offer free shipping.

You should cancel the Amazon order and you can have 2 arms for less money than 1. That way when the other one goes, you'll already have the part. Or you can just do both at once

That's the wrong part for me. I'm replacing the rear wheel control arms. Jag part #C2S24713. Here's a diagram from eB... That being said, I'm assuming the price was each, so I ordered 2 (dealer said same part for left and right, sold separately $172.48 each)... and they already shipped (got the shipped notice within about 30 mins).

I received the parts from Amazon today (less than 24 hours, not bad). I ordered 2 and received 2 total in the box so they are sold separately and still the best price I could find for the rear control arm (not the smaller "front lower rear"). The parts also had the Jag and OEM part numbers on them. I'll be replacing them as soon as I get the spring compressors (can't find my old pair).
