Default rear park assist question

My rear park assist in 2005 X-type is working intermittently. Is there a micro switch next to the shifter that turns it on when the car is in reverse that should be checked?

Thank you.

Yes the switch that activates the reverse lights also powers up the reverse sensor module. The switch is activated by the shift lever position.
If the reverse lights are working and the sensors are not then you should chek the connection between the sensors and the module.

Reverse lights are working. The park assist stopped working again, was working last night. I am also getting B2466 control module configuration failure and C1742 rear sounder circuit failure. According to the manual, B2466 is most likely a faulty module. The fact that it sometimes work is throwing me off. Any other tests I could run before spending $200 on a new module. I tried resetting connectors, didn't help.

thx

OK, pretty sure it is the module. Any recommendations on where to get a new one for a reasonable price?

thank you

Thx. These are all for 2004 and older, 2005 looks different and has different connectors. I found some on eBay, who knows if they are working...

A good source for a used replacement is DrDome a forum member that parts out x-types. Give him a text/call at 484-903-4813. He is quick about shipping and I have over the years bought many parts from him. Tell avern1 from the forum recommended you call.

If he has one he will match the part and make sure it is working.

So to close this up, I ended up finding an exact part number on eBay. Replaced the module with no results. Bought a new sounder and replaced it as well, that did the trick. The original module doesn't work with the new sounder so they are both dead. I was expecting it to be one or another, so this certainly had me scratching my head. I also placed a sounder in the back of the wagon so I didn't have to tear half of the car apart replacing it.
