Default Rear parking sensor removal

I need to replace the parking sensors on our X Type. Does anyone have any tips for doing this please. I've read stories about pushing or pulling wrongly and breaking them. Thanks John

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum John,

This the right place for technical questions about your X-Type. I've removed your duplicate post from
Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center which is the place for posts about the forum.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Graham

It is indeed a Yam monicker. I ordered it in September for March 1st. Loved it after the first mile or so of the test ride. It was a long 6 months I can tell you

MT09, I am one of those that broke a parking sensor. The best advice that I can tell you is to get your hands on 2 small flat bladed screw drivers (or something of similar shape). What you are going to do is to get under the car and locate the bad sensor. From there, you should see 2 tabs holding the sensor in place (about 180 degrees apart from one another). Use the screw drivers and get in under the tabs, using the screw drivers to hold the tabs out slightly. From there, get back to the outside of the car and using your thumb (or other suitable/soft pushing device, push the sensor into the center of the car. DO NOT!!!!! NEVER!!!!!!! twist the sensor. Doing so will almost garantee you will break the sensor.

If you have further questions, just ask.
