Has any one ever bought a set of the reluctor rings from Ebay to see if they actual work for the X type???

Yep, they work fine...got mine from an Ebay vender in the UK that takes PayPal. That's about all that I can remember about who it was thanks to my feeble memo....what were we talking about????? Cheers, Andy

 

Were they difficult to install?? How much effort is required to get the job done??

Pull the axles and knock off the old rings...if they still exist. Clean the rust from the axles' mating surfaces. I put the axles in our chest freezer overnight, the next day I put the rings in the toaster oven for a few minutes...'lubed' the axle surface with red loctite and tapped the rings into position...then reassembled everything... a moderately difficult weekend job.
