Rear trailing arm removal
I'm trying to replace the trailing arm bush on my 03 x-type and run into a couple of issues. One is the way that my garage has told me was the best way to do it-undo the front bracket and force the end down to get to the bush;the other way is to undo the tie arms, shock and swing arm and let it rotate slightly on the hub. The latter is proving a bit of a challenge as the bolts are TIGHT. Not just initially, but the top tie arm is still VERY tight even halfway out.
Is there something I'm missing, like massive tension somewhere. Already snapped a breaker arm trying to get these off...... Has anyone had similar experience?

PB Blaster and lots of heat. The components under your car are probably pretty rusted and trying to push through the rust is causing a lot of the grief that you are having. The other trick (and I know you are going to think I am nuts for saying this) is to tighten the bolt a little bit, then loosen it, tighten some, then loosen. What you are doing is giving a path for the junk in the threads to get out. Taking a wire brush to the threads is a good idea too so you remove as much of the junk as possible. Getting the PB Blaster all the way through the faster will help turn things from a solid dust particle to more of a mud. This will help things to move along. Then there is heat. Normally you don't have to use heat. But, if the car was driven for some time in an area where they salt the roads, that may be what is needed. Generous and numerous applications of PB blaster normally is sufficient.
