Chris, there are 2 fasteners that hold the glass to the metal window regulator. What I recommend is using some duct tape to get a firm grasp on the window and then get some wide electrical tape to go from the duct tape to the body of the car. Position the window so that it is about half way down (if possible). The tape will prevent the window from falling and by using a combination of the electrical tape and duct tape, it won't leave any residue on the paint while giving a solid holding structure. I have some 3" wide electrical tape what works wonders for this.
