I have a 2003 Jaguar X Type that needs a new alternator. My mechanic said that refurbished alternators in his experience don't work in 2003 X Types or at least not for as long as they should and that the only way to go is to use a new one which costs over $900. I trust my mechanic, but does anyone have knowledge of replacing the alternator with a refurbished one?

 

Give DR DOME a shout on this forum, he MIGHT have a OEM one that will work for a fraction of the cost, shipped to your door!

 

Buy a Bosch reman, about $200.
