Removal of brake booster vacuum line & system too lean.
Recently got a check engine light with a code for bank 2 being too lean (p0174) code. I don't have a code for the upstream o2 sensor and from what I understand the downstream o2 doesn't effect mixture. I've head intermittent downstream codes for bank 2 but I don't assume that to be related. Rather I just bought a poor quality sensor that's acting up.
I looked at my vacuum lines and noticed a big chip missing from the circle piece in the brake booster line. I'll post a picture of that below. However my question is how to correctly remove the end thats in the brake booster? The intake side is easy, however the other end is very firm and I don't want to break anything. Should I not worry about that or is there a particular way to remove it?

Just pull the hose out. Nothing special about it. It IS a little scary when you first look at it, but it is just press fit.

I am glad that is working out for you and I get that it probably cost you next to nothing to do that......but.......a brand new OEM part is so cheap, easy to get and easy to install. I don't know that I would go to that trouble to save a few dollars. Could order it online for like $20 and have it delieverd in a couple days. For me, something like that is not something I would do a McGiver fix on for anything other than an emergency temporary fix. Everyone is different I guess.
