Wink

Its surprising to learn that most of the staff at major National Auto-Part Outlets think that Demineralised Water is the same as Distilled Water.

I've just re-read through Jaguar's X-Type Workshop Manual and they do in fact call for distilled water mixed with specified Coolant Concentrate 50/50 ratio.

By contrast the Repco (red) Coolant Concentrate (Organic Long life) I've selected that fully meets with Jaguar's Cololant Specification and especially formulated for use with Aluminium Radiators - recommends mixing with demineralised water 50/50 ?

So I'm wondering given the broad use of demineralised water in this country - that it may in fact be quite satisfactory - used in the X-Type too.

If the Radiator Supplier says its OK and the Coolant Maker says its OK - who am I to argue ?

I will use the Demineralised Water.

Arrow Update: Installation Completed

Hello to all following this thread,
I'm pleased to report that the process of Removal and Replacement of the Radiator - went flawlessly. having the benefit of my sons help (extra pair of hands) and although not essential - the prior removal of the front Bumper Cover made life much easier by fully exposing the lower part of the A/C Condenser and the attached Power Steering Oil Cooler and Transmission Oil Cooler units. Again, those do not require removal in themselves but made access to the adjacent lower fixing bolts that secure the Condenser to the Radiator - much easier to access.

Once the Cooling Module (Radiator, Fans, Motors & Fan Shroud) were unclipped from the Condenser .... the Cooling Module simply slid out - beneath the car, where upon the Radiator itself readily unclips from the Fan Shroud.

No point describing the replacement process as it really is a simple reverse procedure of the removal.

I am extremely happy with the result and now expect a long and full life from the new Radiator installation.

Again, a big thanks to all who contributed to this thread - for their support and encouragement.
