Default removing the needles from the gauge cluster?

Does anyone know how to remove the needles from the gauge cluster? I bought a cluster off ebay that has the green gauge face but I don't want to break the needles taking them off, and I'd rather swap just the gauge face rather than the whole cluster since the mileage wont be correct. I searched but couldn't find anything.

I wouldn't, you risk losing the calibration.
If you have the right equipment, mileage can be corrected via the obd2 connector.
Fit the complete green cluster, drive to your nearest auto-electrician & they should be able to adjust the mileage for you.

So did you get it reprogrammed? If so how much did it cost?

No I haven't had time to go to a jag dealer and ask about it, I've been busy moving and dealing with school and a new job. All good things, but they take away from time with the car, and the gauge cluster is low on my to-do list. I'd like to try to get it done maybe this week or next though. I'll let ya know.

You can pry off the needles gently with a fork. Just be careful not to break the fragile plastic needle stops.

You will not lose calibration. These are stepper motor gauges. The needles recalibrate zero automatically against the stops when the battery is reconnected.

I might just try that if the Jag dealer wants to charge me a lot to reprogram it. I didn't spend much for the cluster anyway. it was like, 40 bucks.

Will the green cluster give the same color green when lights are on? Or is is a different color than black gauges?

Just a little update to this; I finally got around to going to the local dealership to ask about programing my cluster, they said they will do it for an hours labor, so $135 plus tax, just to reprogram it. The nice thing is they will let me take it out myself in the parking lot and put the new one in so they can reprogram it since I most likely couldn't drive it without it being programed. Saves me from having to either tow it there or pay them to take it out and put it in. I'm going to hold off on doing it for a while since I have other things that need my money.

Oh and I'm not really sure about the light colors.
