Default Removing Purge Control Valve Charcoal Canister

On my 2002 X-Type it seems very straightforward to disconnect the purge valve but another matter to also remove the charcoal canister that sits behind and below the purge valve. The valve itself has one connector and one hose/tube to the manifold and a tube to the charcoal filter canister and slides off the bracket fairly easily. Although the charcoal canister also slides onto this same bracket there doesn't seem to be a way to remove the canister except by removing the bracket by removing nuts from the two bolts holding it onto the top of the firewall (two bolts at top of photo). Is removing the bracket needed to access the charcoal canister, or am I missing something obvious? And unrelated, in the photo there at two connectors at top of bracket above the valve connector. Can anyone tell me the purpose of the black top left connector? This was a borrowed photo and my x-type doesn't have this connector.

Many thanks.

The charcoal canister is on top of your fuel tank along with the purge valve. It requires dropping the fuel tank (ask me how I know, lol).

We may be talking different parts. This is valve and canister I’m referring to which I’d low on firewall behind intake manifold. See original picture.

You said charcoal canister. There's no charcoal canister up front that I'm aware of.

There is. It's the cylinder shaped item in this diagram, item 11. The entire assembly, which I'm replacing, is part number C2G1426. The video was helpful (had already viewed). It shows removal of the valve, but not the canister below. Thanks anyway though.

Not a charcoal canister, it's a reservoir.

okay. so clearly some more research to do. here's another view of actual complete assembly now on sale at eBay. they have part number 1X43-9C91 and it's described as "2002 03 04 05 06 07 2008 Jaguar X-Type Air intake purge valve (reservoir) Canister 1X43-9C9" which is the identical assembly on my 2002 x-type. that said, on the canister itself is part number 1X4G-9S446-BB. couple of techs mentioned that this part has often been found to be cause of small evap leak codes so thought i'd swap it out and see if it makes a difference. clearly have some more reference work to do first. thanks for much info.
