Hi, everybody! I have a 2004 x-type and the heater hose cracked up near the top where it enters the aluminum tube. It appears to me to be impossible to replace either heater hose as the connection down at the firewall is completely inaccessible. I searched the forum for wisdom but so far have turned up nothing. Looks to me like the factory must have a stand they place the heater hoses on and then proceed to assemble the car around them.

What am I missing here? Can't get to them from the top or the bottom. I have a subscription to the alldatadiy site and the shop rate for this repair looks to be about 1.5 hours. Has anybody actually performed this repair. I need some wisdom. Help!!
