Replacing cylinder heads without removing engine
Hey guys, I just bought a 2003 x-type 3.0 for 400 bucks that has a blown head gasket. I want to fix it but i know that theres no way i can/want to fix it by removing the engine to do so. My question is has anyone done with without removing the engine and timing cover? If so how do I go about doing so or should I just the sell the car off lol I got it over my head when I found out what all needs to be done. I will never buy and over head cam engine/car again these are a bitch
thanks, Josh

Hey bud.
If you are looking for easy then the x type is not. I will not say ints impossible but it wont be on my list of things to do. If you are looking o sell the car I will be very interested in taking it off your hands with a little extra in your pocket then what you paid. PM me and we can work something out.
Thanks,
The DR!

You cannot take the heads off without taking the timing cover off to get the timing chains off the cam gears. Sorry. If its a 5 speed...I'd buy it off you too maybe, depending on where you live.... want a 3L for my car...
thanks for the input guys. I ended up selling the car. I put it up for sale and sold it in the same day
sold it for 850 bucks. Admin you can close this thread. thanks again guys!
