reverse parking aide
Is your car even equipped with the reverse parking aide??? I was under the impression that it
was an option and not all cars came with it. If you have it, there will be round sensors mounted
in the lower black trim of the rear bumper. You will also find the module that controls the parking
aid under your spare tire.

Yes-its definately got them-in fact I stuck it in reverse with the ignition on and I managed to listen to the tiny clicks coming from three of the the four sensors-but the right hand side one (the drivers side being a UK car) wasn't making any noise at all. Will this mean if I replace the one faulty sensor that the whole system will work? (The bleep doesn't sound when you engage reverse, there doesn't seem to be any water near the module in the boot but I still don't know where the sound is supposed to come from)
The sound comes from a spekaer on the package shelf at the back of the car. I guess they figure if you are backing up and
hear a beeping from the back of the car you will turn around and see what you are about to run into!
One of the Jag Techs
posted that he has never seen a speaker fail so it is probably still a bad sensor or bad wiring from the suspect bad sensor to the module. Since you have one suspect bad sensor, take one that is making noise and swap it to the bad spot. If it makes noise you
have a bad sensor. If it doesn't, there is probably a problem in the wiring to the sensor.
I am no expert on this but that would be a something to try.
