Smile Reversing Sensors and Camera

Hello all, I have owned Sovereigns in the past but have just purchased a Jaguar X type 2002 3.0 V6, it's a lovely car to drive, there are a couple of little things I want to do to it and after Google searching I found this forum :-) and what a gem it is, everyone seems to be so knowledgeable, so if you could be so kind as to help I would really appreciate it.

Firstly the car doesn't have any reversing sensors but does have the connector in the boot, I can buy a new rear bumper skirt kit that comes with the holes pre-cut, the wiring loom sensors control module and speaker, is there anyway to replace the skirt without removing the bumper? and is it as simple as just clipping on the new skirt and connecting the loom.

Secondly I would like to add a reversing camera but using the media screen on the dash console, how would I go about connecting this as have heard the screen is NTSC and the connections would need to be done via the Sat Nav in the boot, would any camera work? could I use a camera from an XF Jag? as couple available on ebay part number C2Z23011,C2Z26550, or DX23-19G490-AB
sorry for all the questions.

regards

Rob

You might want to call Dr. Dome one of the forum members who dismantles the X-Types. He will have everything you need and can advise on how it is put together. His number is 484-903-4813.

Hi Rob, the lower valance will just clip off + a torx screw at each side!
The reverse camera I have done to my car(2009my) and you are correct the camera MUST be NTSC format. You will need a video interface to connect to the RGB + Sync wires at the back of the DVD Nav unit in the boot, here is my how to - http://www.mediafire.com/view/kgrdl77l958l9dl
Hope this helps
