Default Road Noise

I have the oddest metal on metal sound. Going at least 50 km/h per hour I have loud road noise for the first time ever. It is really loud when talking a right hand turn but no change when I take a left hand turn. What really strikes me as odd is that it appears to be coming from the rear. I have greased the shaft in the past and have a wheel bearing replaced but it does not sound like that. Tires are inflated properly with no signs of tire wear. Any thoughts?

Could be brakes, the warning sensor that your pads are near the end of their life makes a metallic sound.

Have you taken the wheels off and *inspected* anything back there yet?

Never thought about the brakes as it only happens when I turn right. Will consider that though. Does the warning sensor appear as a light on the dash or is it just a metallic sound? I have not had the wheel off yet just a visual inspection of the outside and I performed some different driving patterns to try and pinpoint the issue.

I have a 2002 and there was no light when the brakes needed to be done, just a scratchy metallic sound. Does the sound stop when you step on the brake pedal?

Wheel bearing is a good possibility if the sound doesn't stop when you step on the brakes.

Sound does not stop when I use the brakes. A bad wheel bearing is a definite possibility. What confuses me is that it is much more pronounced on a right turn at speed.

typical sign of a bad wheel bearing. If you go hard left it will silence the noise.
