Rough start up
My 2002 X-Type 3.0 AWD has begun giving me a rough start up. When I start it on cold mornings it idles very rough almost going dead but does continue to run until it warms up considerably then runs smooth, any suggestions where I should start to track the problem?
YES - in our X-Type forum.
I've moved your question for advice from members with the same model. My first thoughts from the cold start / rough warm up / then smooth running description would be a faulty ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor.

Usually it’s one of two things. The engine coolant sensor or the crank sensor. I fault this for two winters before finally finding out mine was the crank sensor. Both parts are easy to change and very reasonable priced
