Default Sat nav 'not a map disc'

Hello all

Just bought my first jag (2006 X-Type) and looking for advice.
As per the subject, I'm having the 'disc inserted is not a map dvd' error. Bought the disc from a site recommended on a jag forum, but as the car didn't have a disc on purchase I don't know whether the problem is the unit or the disc. The seller told me to clean the unit (and was really rather narky about it!) when I asked him for advice. Any suggestions on what to clean it with (I do know not soap and water! ), and what to do if that doesn't work? Do I need to go through some sort of installation process?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum Elliebhall023,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Update - got the sat nav working but CDC button does nothing. It recognises when I put the cartridge in but the button does nothing at all. I also have no sound when the sat nav is running. Volume is up and there's no interruption to music. Any ideas? Sorry to put both on here but can't figure out how to create a post from my phone! (Not a good start, I know...)
