Scheduled Maintenance Cost

RE: Scheduled Maintenance Cost
Ok doky. That's certainly much more than I thought for an oil change, pollen filter, and to run around the car pretending to check everything else. The chart indicates the brake fluid should be changed, but isn't that early?
Does everyone here actually take it to the dealer for this?

RE: Scheduled Maintenance Cost
spiel, in the US, first Jaguar would have to prove that the maintenance/modification done (or the lack there of)is what caused the failure. So, not doing the brake fluid change out and then having the alternator fail is not grounds to deny you the warrantee work. Now, if you don't ever change the oil and then the motor blows up, thenJaguar has grounds to deny the claim. But, if you can show receipts from a local shop, then you are covered.
As for the checks, you can't really prove if someone did or did not do them. When my cars are under warrantee, I normally keep a log book in the vehicle and I make notes as to what was done, when, and at what mileage. That way, should there be a question, I break out my book and I have the proof. At that point, most dealerships will stop the arguement as you have all the data and all they can do is say, "well, it looks like this wasn't done". But, you have the proof, they just have their word.
If you lived near Norfolk VA, I would invite you over and we would do the list of stuff at my place. Most of the stuff is really easy to do and takes only a minute or two per item. Even doing the brake fluid swap out is really easy. that would take say a half hour.

RE: Scheduled Maintenance Cost
had 70k maintenance done last week. rotated tires and checked everything. only because I bought used and had my local mechanics check when i bought the car wanted dealer to confirm I had made a good purchase, the dealer dropped me at work, checked all, found a loose breater hose, fixed at no charged, gave me a sheet with alternate info from jag for tranny fluid, and t/c case fluid. dropped the car back to me at work, cleaned and ready to go.$400, piece of mind and a clean car. jaguar of cincinnati rocks! won't be back, to expensive for regular maintenance, but were very nice and helpful.
