Angry Shift assembly issue

So, this is the 3rd time this issue with the J-Gate has been an issue. I replaced and adjusted the red and blue cable that runs from the j-gate to the transmission, and it became unadjusted again. For a while, it wouldn't shift into park, and it would get stuck in reverse, but i could back into spots or put a stone behind the back tires, get out and pull the cable on the switch on the transmission from underneath the front end on the drivers side (US) and it would go into park fine, and then shift out and all was well.
Well, now, it just will not shift. it will not leave P the lever will not move. some moron pulled on the shift lever thinking it was jammed-- something snapped, likely that same cable. what could be the fix? any info on the location/removal/replacement of this? its the 2004 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 AWD.

Anything helps!!!
