Default shift knob

I have 2004 X type 2.5, I want to replace my gearshift knob.
I'm having a hard time finding a shift knob that fits, it is a straight
shift (5 speed) and it is recressed in the bottom for the lift up
reverse. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement?

I would think you could use any shift knob that fits, so long as you don't screw it down to the point, where you couldn't lift the reverse lockout enough to go into reverse.......Be cool.....Mike

Ford focus knobs should work fine, they use the same thread pitch and also have the lift reverse lock mechanism. You can also find some nice wooden knobs with jaguar emblems on eBay, just make sure they are for the 5 speed not the auto, and they have space for the lock out.
